ABOUT

From the very first pull of heavy scissors against a wooden desk, Marouge has always been about honouring the complexity of femininity before the sound of the snip. With deep Middle Eastern roots that tie me vein to vein, the need to replicate the boldness of

my traditions around me became the sole foundation of my creativity, creating pieces with a contemporary edge that have the inability to not leave a lingering afterthought. In our culture, joy has a sound. At the end of every celebration, when the food is shared

and the laughter is still unapologetically loud, the women gather to trill a bright, high-pitched song made with the tongue. We carry that spirit into every piece we make, hoping that when you wear our clothes, you feel celebrated; that somewhere in the background, there’s a sound like love calling out loud.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Our fabrics are carefully sourced in Melbourne, chosen with intention and close attention to quality. Every garment is handmade in-house by a professional team of two, allowing each piece to be crafted with care from start to finish. This slower approach is a conscious choice and reflects our commitment to ethical practices and our refusal to contribute to the waste and speed of fast fashion, where quantity often outweighs care. At Marouge, we produce in small runs, releasing only a few styles at a time. This allows us to focus deeply on detail, reduce unnecessary waste, and stay connected to the purpose behind each piece. We design clothes to be worn beyond a single season. Pieces that tell a story, hold meaning, and we are made to be passed on.

Love, Mary
